May 18 | 21:00 | Igreja Evangélica Presbiteriana de Lisboa

May 23 | 18:30 | Casa Fernando Pessoa

Kristiina Ehin

Two evenings of Estonian poetry and music. The Estonian poetess Kristiina Ehin will witness for the first time how her poetry sounds in Portuguese (read by the actor João d’Avila). The poetry will be accompanied by a unique handmade musical instrument played by Silver Sepp, Kristiina’s husband.

Kristiina Ehin was born in 1977 into a family of poets. Today she is one of the most translated Estonian poets – her work has been published in Finnish, Swedish, Irish, English, German, Russian, Udmurt and French. “The Drums of Silence”, translated by Ilmar Lehtpere, received the Popescu poetry award in 2007.
